The Airport Gibraltar has quite a unique airport as the airstrip runs across the border to Spain and is quite short. The airstrip stretches from the east to west sides of the Rock and has a main road running straight across it. A new airport is under construction to cope with a greater influx of visitors and should be completed in 2011. The new airport is to be jointly used with Spain and will have a separate access from La Linea (Spain). At the same time, a tunnel access for cars and pedestrians will be used (at the east end of the runway) instead of the present system running across it; the runway is also being extended.
The Apes Although we refer to them as our Apes, these wild animals are actually Barbary Macaques tail-less monkeys and are a joy to watch. Caution must be taken though when approaching them and never feed the monkeys as it is both dangerous and against the law.
Trinity Light-House Gibraltar has a famous Trinity light-house at Europa Point, the southern tip of the Rock.
