Once you arrive in Gibraltar and land safely on our unique airstrip, your next destination is but a stones throw away as Gibraltar is merely 3 square miles in size and takes 'ten minutes' to get anywhere. Some hotels will provide a courtesy bus to collect you from the airport and take you directly to your hotel.
Gibraltar’s bus system is very reliable, affordable (60p for a single ticket anywhere) and comfortable with the bright blue busses operating every 15-20 minutes. Bus number 2 will take you from the frontier and airport to the town centre and across Gibraltar to the southern tip, Europa Point and back. Number 4 will pretty much take you all over the main areas of Gibraltar, including the Westside where Morrisons supermarket is and St Bernard’s Hospital (our main hospital). Number 4 will also take you to the Eastside of the Rock where the beaches are. Bus number 5 is a quick bus that takes you to the beginning of town from the frontier and airport. A mini bus, number 1, will travel along the upper-town areas and down into Queensway, Europort, Morrisons and the Hospital areas of Gibraltar. The bus station is directly opposite the Airport, as is the Taxi stand and the airport car-park. Buses start operating from 07:20 until 21:00.
A Taxi will be waiting at the frontier,from Spain, and outside the Airport should this be a better option for you to get around.
