A meeting place of Continents, Gibraltar is famous worldwide for its dramatic Rock; imposing, but small, and measuring about six square kilometers (3.5 square miles) in total.

Most of the inhabitants are made up of Gibraltarians, British, Moroccans, Indians and Spanish. Its location is in a strategic position, south of the Iberian Peninsular, overlooking the straits to Morocco and is linked to Spain via a narrow isthmus.

Steeped in history, The Rock of Gibraltar (or El Peñon, as locally named) has many interesting attractions to visit, including some amazing caves, the upper-rock Nature Reserve and Europa Point along with several beaches and marinas.

Our Botanical Gardens are spectacular and a must to visit, not forgetting the monkeys (Barbary Macaques) that run wild within the upper-rock Nature Reserve, being the only semi-wild colony in Europe.
